Tax practitioners and accountants checked against their professional bodies
Every business here was checked against the registers of SAICA and SAIPA, two of the professional bodies SARS recognises for tax practitioners: the practice's own website names its people and their designations, and each is checked at the body that designation names (SAICA or SAIPA). A practice is checked through the people its own website names. Membership confirmed means a membership number on the website was confirmed at SAICA or SAIPA. Member listed means the website names a practitioner whom the body's register lists, one member of that name and designation, with no number to confirm it. Registration as a tax practitioner belongs to the person, so a practice we have not yet checked is not thereby unregistered: ask for their SARS PR number and professional body. Nothing is self-reported.
